Summer Camp Sunday

Summer Camp Sunday

After a breakfast of cereal, bacon, beans and egg we fell in for our fist inspection. At camp we have a competition during the week to see who is the best patrol. The patrols are marked on tidiness of their tents and how well they have cooked and washed up. The highest scoring patrol got to use the “tent friend.y” magnetic dart set for the day. After inspection the Scouts began to prepare for their bivouac it out by choosing a suitable spot for the bivouac and lighting a fire. We toasted marshmallows when the fire was going well. The explorers began to build a treehouse sleeping platform to sleep in later in the week. We decided since it was such a nice day a trip to Black Moss Pot would be ideal. A minibus ride to Borrowdale and a forty five minute walk took us to “The Pot” and those Scouts who wanted to could jump in from various heights into the water below. You can see from the pictures that the Scouts and Explorers really enjoyed it. We had quite an audience with the weather being so good – including some people from Washington. Notable mentions must go to Honor for being the highest jumping girl and Dan for fearlessly jumping straight off the top.
