Scouts: what could you earn?

We're challenging the Scouts to take ownership this term, by completing at least 1 Activity Badge in their own time. In the run up to our badge presentation on Friday 9 December - details nearer the time - we want to have lots of badges to give out, to celebrate the Scouts' achievements and end our centenary year as we mean to go on - a success!

Our Scout Programme's incorprate working towards the Challenge Badges on regular troop nights, although we do try to get Activity Badges thrown in as well - like the Photographer badge we're doing this term - but you can do these in your own time as well. For most, all we need to see is some proof that the requirement has been completed, such as a letter signed by a coach/teacher etc. Please speak to one of the Scout Leaders if you have any questions. You may be surprised to find that you've already worked towards one! We've choosen a few that may be of interest below.

Iceland Update 3

Here is the latest update for the Iceland trip.

We are having a meeting this Friday evening at 6pm to make sure everyone has up to date information.

Below is the final kit list we have put together based on the activities on offer and the advice from Venture Abroad.

We are in the process of working out the final payments for the travel to Edinburgh and should have this ready for Friday. If you are unable to make the meeting let us know so we can make sure we get the information to you.

Half way throughout centenary year we descend on Penshaw Monument for a photograph

This Saturday we made our way up Penshaw monument to take part in a centenary photo. Not everyone in the group was able to make it but we did have a great turn out none the less.

We climbed to the top of the monument for our main group shot and then headed back to Herrington Country Park to take a drone shot of all of the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers making a giant "100" it was amazing to be part of the event. You can check out our efforts on our YouTube channel.

Iceland Update

We had a our latest Iceland update meeting tonight and a couple of you have asked for a copy of the PowerPoint file and a sponsor form for those scouts wanting to do sponsored events to raise money for the trip.
