What is Beavers?

Beaver CMYK blue stackBeaver Scouts is our youngest section for boys and girls aged between six and eight years old, though they can be as young as five and three quarters.

Their activities are based around making things, outdoor activities, singing, playing games, going out on visits, investigating nature, listening to stories, learning how to be safe and most importantly, making new friends.  They will also have the opportunity to take part in the fun and excitement of camps and sleepovers. It may be the first time they spend a night away from home so it’s a real adventure for them. Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts meet together once a week in a Beaver Scout Colony. At 1st Washington our Beavers meet on a Monday or Thursday night from 6.00pm till 7.30pm.

Beavers take part in a balanced programme of activities which leads to them gaining their highest award which is called the Chief Scout’s Bronze Award.
