Another lovely day – a perfect day in fact for kayaking on the lake. In the morning the beginning paddlers took to the lake while the more experienced scouts did. Archery and air rifle shooting.
After a lunch of crepes we swapped over with the more experienced scouts paddling round to St Begas church – a small church in the next bay. Mr Lloyd wished he had brought some money as they were selling bank holiday tea and cakes. After that we headed back to the site for more fun on the floating trampoline. The explorers spent the day at Sandale Quarry doing rock climbing. Callum was outstanding, Adam accomplished his first lead climb and they all learned to belay.
After tea we learned how to play Kabaddi – check it out on Wikipedia to see how it’s played. Its all about chanting “kabaddi” while you capture members of the opposing team. As it started to get dark we had a few more rounds of Scat – our favourite wide game before a supper of hot soup and bed. Everyone is looking forward to our hike tomorrow and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the rain stays in the Washington end of the country.
