Our first fund raising event was on Saturday 28th, 12 cubs turned up to do the sponsored walk, it was a little bit disappointing that there weren’t more but I can appreciate people are very busy at weekends. Each cub paired up with another and between them they had to carry a large bucket of water for thirty laps of the field at the back of our HQ. We are waiting to get all the sponsor money in but it’s looking positive.
The second event was a Car Wash. Even though it was really cold yesterday and I had a few near misses with cancelling the night due to the gale force winds and sheeting rain, snow and hail we decided to go ahead and run the second part of our fundraising night for Water Aid. It started of a little hectic as not everyone showed up on time and I had a massive que of parents wanting to pay for cub camp, but when we eventually got going it was great, I think we washed 9 cars two of which were just drive ins. I haven’t got a total for both events yet but we made £65 from the car wash. It was soo cold, everyone did really well to have lasted so long so a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to my cub sprouts for being brave.
