Had a wild time at WWT Washington recently, we did den building in the woods. It wasn’t quite what I expected as they had us using tarpaulin and fabric to cover the dens and I wrongly assumed we would be doing traditional den building, I’ve got to say I was a little surprised and a tad disappointed but the cubs really enjoyed doing it so that is what is important, it is the year of Adventure after all. We had an interesting discussion about Wildlife poaching and conservation, the work they do at the WWT and further afield like Africa. We had a look at a turtle shell, snake skins, elephant tusks, animal skins, things like that which have been confiscated at customs, items obtained by illegal poachers. It was really interesting, I hope the cubs learned something from it.
