The leaders agreed that they had a really great bunch of Scouts and Explorers at camp this year so they had to come up with a suitable challenge. Today the Scouts went on an adventure trek up Grisedale Pike and the Explorers headed for Seathwaite for a hike in the Borrowdale Valley. The weather was windy but it stayed dry allowing us to take in some amazing views of Derwent Water, Skiddaw and Blencathra. From the very top it was even possible to see all the way over to Scotland on the other side of the Solway Firth.
When we got back to camp its was time for a well-earned meal of curry and rice and after tea it was down to the lake for a post-hike wash.
The explorers are psyching themselves up for overnight adventure tomorrow night and the Scouts are heading to GoApe. We’re expecting to get some crazy footage on the zip lines for the film we’re working on so watch this space.
