Camp Chill Out

Camp Chill Out

The cubs had a sleepover last weekend at our HQ, the theme was Chill Out and considering it was actually snowing on Saturday morning the weather certainly fit the title.  It turned out ok though as we spent the whole day at Wet n Wild where it was very humid and warm.  There are some super scary looking slides there and amazingly I think all of the cubs tried all of the slides.  Obviously we didn’t get any pictures but they all had a fab day.  When we got back they then set to with the task of cooking their own dinner, a few days before the cooker was on the blink so we had decided it was a good idea to get the stoves out in the hall.  It certainly went very well and I think everyone ate whatever they cooked, they all did a really good job and were very enthusiastic, even when they had to clear up and do the dishes.  Sunday was spent at Beamish Wild doing Crate stacking, Archery and Den building.  I have to say the den building was great fun as they have loads of branches from the trees and bushes so we could really get stuck in and make them as big as we wanted.  It was a really good weekend and everyone had a fab time thanks to the adult helpers who gave up their time to help, next time it will be two nights at West Hall Scout Camp in Whitburn, hopefully we will have a full pack for that one.
