Day Two at camp has been packed with adventure. After a rainy start the weather stayed on our side for most of the day, and we made the most of every moment.
This morning, the camp split into different activity groups. The younger Scouts took to the lake to go kayaking. It was brilliant to see their confidence grow with every stroke, and some even tried a capsize drill.
Meanwhile, the older Scouts embraced the wild with a morning of bushcraft.
The Explorer Scouts had their own high-energy adventure river tubing—floating, laughing, and sometimes jumping downriver in a thrilling test of balance and bravery. Safe to say they came back buzzing.
This afternoon, everyone came together for a climbing session at Sandale. With helmets on and harnesses secured, the Scouts took on the rock face with determination and plenty of encouragement for one another. It was amazing to see them pushing their limits and supporting each other all the way to the top.
As evening rolled in, we turned our attention to preparing camp for a change in the weather adding a few extra pegs and guy lines. Then, once camp was secure, it was time for a cluedo-themed wide game.
Another incredible day in the Lakes—and there’s still so much more to come!
