Our final full day at camp was a mix of fun, food, and a few moments to look back on the week we’ve shared.

The morning began with a big wash in the lake—a refreshing start that woke everyone up and probably counted as the cleanest we’ve been all week.

After drying off, we headed into Keswick, where each Scout had £5 to buy their lunch. Some went for Greggs, while others stretched their budget to more creative snack choices. A few had saved enough in their camp bank to pick up gifts or souvenirs.

The afternoon gave everyone the chance to choose an activity or revisit a favourite from earlier in the week—whether it was kayaking, archery, or simply relaxing with friends.

Dinner was a barbecue, followed by our legendary camp gâteau—a towering creation of Swiss rolls and squirty cream that never fails to impress.

We closed the night around the campfire, a chance to sing and reflect on the week’s achievements. It’s been a week of challenges, laughter, and new experiences, and it’s clear we’ll be heading home with a very different group of young people from the ones we brought—more confident, more capable, and carrying memories they’ll hold on to for years to come.
