We have just had a fantastic weekend with the Cubs doing loads of activities at Moor House. The weekend began on Saturday morning when the cubs all dropped their gear off at HQ, then we all piled onto the mini bus and headed to Moor House Adventure Center. When we arrived we split into our groups. We only had 13 cubs this time( never mind, small groups are good too. )We started off the activities with Orienteering and Tobogganing, when we had all done those activities we moved on to Archery. After lunch it was Frisbee Golf, Crate Stacking and the 40ft Climbing wall. Everyone had a go at the wall and everyone did really well, especially Jacob and Amelia who both made it to the top! Well done to them. I’m awaiting pictures of the climbing as my camera died, when I get them I will post them. It was a really packed day but very good. We got back to our HQ an hour late as the activities ran over a little. The cubs cooked their own dinner, Pasta Bolognaise & garlic bread followed by ice cream sundaes yum!
Marshmallows melted over an open flame where the next thing but none of the cubs wanted to sing songs, (bunch of miseries if you ask me) then the movie; Rise of the Guardians and bed.
After a very brief sleep and a lovely breakfast we headed to South Shields where we did Laser Quasar, I think everyone enjoyed that, although some were so competitive they got a bit upset with themselves. One cub was a bit scared at first but soon plucked up the courage to have a go.
After that it was chips at the seaside followed by the park. Home time was interesting as the minibus wouldn’t start, quite a usual occurrence really as the mini bus and I don’t have a very good track record. After being rescued by my father and his trusty jump leads we headed back to HQ where all the cubs parents were waiting eagerly to welcome their boys and girls.
