Why Fundraising Matters
Scouting changes lives. It helps young people gain confidence, build friendships, and learn skills that last a lifetime.
But behind every campfire, badge, or adventure is the practical need to fund it.
Our Scout Group relies entirely on fundraising, donations, and community support to keep running – and to make sure every young person can be part of the journey, no matter their circumstances.
Where the Money Goes
Every penny raised helps us provide the best possible experience for our young people. Your support helps us:
- Buy and maintain essential equipment (like tents, cooking gear, and safety kits)
- Subsidise trips and camps so that no one is left out due to cost
- Cover the cost of badge materials, craft supplies, and activities
- Provide leader training and safeguarding resources
- Maintain and improve our meeting place (if applicable)
- Keep Scouting affordable and accessible for all families
We keep our membership fees as low as possible to make sure Scouting is open to everyone – and fundraising helps bridge the gap.
Why Your Support Matters
With more families facing financial pressure, we never want cost to be a barrier to joining in. That’s why donations and fundraising are more important than ever.
Your support helps us:
- Say “yes” to more young people
- Offer help to families who need it most
- Keep growing and improving the programme
- Give young people unforgettable experiences
How You Can Help

You can:
- Make a one-off or monthly donation
- Sponsor a badge, activity or camp
- Join in with a fundraiser – or run your own!
- Nominate us for community grants or local initiatives

Thank You for Supporting Local Scouting
Every donation – no matter how small – makes a big difference to what we can offer.
With your help, we can continue to equip young people with the skills they need to thrive – today, tomorrow, and for the rest of their lives.
