🐾 What Are Cub Scouts?
Cub Scouts, or Cubs, are young people aged 8 to 10½ who are full of energy, curiosity, and a growing sense of independence.
At Cubs, we channel all that enthusiasm into fun, friendship, and adventure – all while learning skills that will last a lifetime.
Every week, Cubs take part in exciting activities that help them grow, explore new things, and build their confidence.
🌟 Try New Things, Make New Friends
Being a Cub Scout means being part of a Pack – a group where everyone supports each other and works as a team.
Cubs might:
- Build shelters and cook outdoors
- Learn first aid and safety skills
- Try climbing, archery, or water activities
- Take part in games, challenges, and themed nights
- Go on camps and sleepovers
Every activity is designed to help them gain independence, challenge themselves, and have fun while doing it.
🧠 Learning Skills for Life
From practical skills like tying knots and reading a map, to personal ones like confidence, resilience, and kindness – Cubs are always learning.
They can earn badges for:
- Outdoor skills
- Creative projects
- Science and technology
- Teamwork and leadership
- Community involvement
It’s all about building the Skills for Life that help Cubs thrive at school, at home, and beyond.
🧡 Living the Promise
Cubs follow the Scout Promise and Law, learning what it means to be responsible, respectful, and ready to help others.
There are versions of the Promise for all faiths and backgrounds, so every child feels included and valued.
⛺ Adventure Starts Here
Cubs is often where the Scouting adventure really takes off – with campfires, nights away, and a sense of challenge and independence.
It’s also a chance for Cubs to start leading, supporting others, and beginning to shape their own journey through Scouts.
