This morning Mr Lloyd received a phone call that sounded quite serious. A plane had been brought down by a water balloon and it was carrying some kind of top secret weapon. As he’s part of some kind of elite response unit of Scout leaders we were tasked to recover the parts of the plane. The RAF couldn’t do it because they wanted to keep the crash a secret. We were driven to a secret location and given a grid reference of where the first pice had been tracked. Throughout the day we headed to a variety of locations and were set challenges to recover the parts of the aircraft. At each base we got a flag with a letter to decode. It was useful that we got sent on the mission as it also allowed us to complete some parts of our navigator’s badge. Once we had returned to Camp we started our cooking competition. Each Patrol had to come up with a three course meal to impress the celebrity guest judges. Meals ranged from Fish and Chips to Chicken wraps. Most of the teams also made an Oreo cheesecake. The standard of presentation of the food was very high. We even had prawn cocktail served on a slate.
