It’s the last day today and the weather is glorious. The Scouts are heading into town fully briefed on the best shops to buy souvenirs. We took our usual troop picture of everyone who is at camp this year and Dom was taught his Scout promise and law on the way in the minibus. After a couple of hours in Keswick it was back to the site for free choice afternoon. A chance for the Scouts to have another go at some of their favourite activities of the week or finish off badges. Some chose kayaking so we went on a trip to the next bay. You can really get an idea of the size of the lake from here and it made a great spot to invest Dom in Scouts. We are also really proud of Dean For tea we had a barbecue and started to take some of our tents down. The day ended with the camp olympics medal ceremony and a campfire.at the campfire we had a chance to share our favourite parts of the week. The campfire was lit by four roman candles and the Scouts joined in the songs very enthusiastically – especially Ben who we have discovered is a bit of an entertainer. The leaders agreed that the combination of great activities, favourable weather and the enthusiasm of the scouts to try every activity has made this one of our best camps ever.
We’d just like to thank everyone for a fantastic week! Jack was made very welcome in the leader team, and Dean was given the responsibility of patrol leader. We’ve had an amazing time, looking forward to the next one!! Jack and Dean
In my opinion Summer Camp was the best away from home trip I’ve ever went to and I really hope to go next year!!!
